What Kind of Changes Can You Make With Hypnosis?

 I love using hypnosis to help women lose weight. It is really common to overeat when feeling upset or stressed. I teach you, with hypnosis, how to think or visualize differently when you have uncomfortable emotions so that you don't overeat. With practice, you start feeling and acting differently when upset or stressed. Eventually, your new visualizations become automatic, and you don't overeat in those situations.

 

An example:

When you have a fight with your partner and then see a bag of chips in the pantry that you're tempted to eat, you might:

Replace that food image of the chips (in your mind) with a picture of how you want to look when you've lost your excess weight 

See yourself "in a movie" acting how you would like to act around the chips.

Visualize a dial with which you can "turn down" that craving for the chips.

  

     Habits and phobias also respond well to hypnosis. With hypnosis, it is often possible to permanently rid yourself of a habit or phobia in 2 or 3 sessions (usually with some home practice). I teach you how to rehearse reacting differently to your triggers or phobias by visualizing them in a different or ridiculous way.

     I use self-hypnosis to fall asleep more easily. Hypnosis quiets your mind and relaxes you so that you sleep better. With practice, you can fall asleep quickly - whether at bedtime or in the middle of the night.

     Hypnosis is also a powerful way to decrease anxiety and panic attacks.  You can reduce the intensity of your anxious or panicky thoughts and learn to visualize yourself as you would like to act or think. You're able to permanently change those neural pathways in your brain (see last week's post) associated with your anxiety.

    If you suffer from chronic or frequent pain, hypnosis can help to decrease your pain. You’ll be able to “dial down” your pain or visualize it differently so it becomes more tolerable and more comfortable.

     Hypnosis can also eliminate long-standing habits such as nail-biting, smoking, and skin-picking.

 

   Like all tools, hypnosis only helps if you want to change and if you’re willing to do some practicing.  Self-hypnosis enables you to make changes more quickly. My goal is to teach you to use self-hypnosis so that it's always available to you.
