Motivation
Feb 16, 2023You say that you want to lose weight. Yet, you continue to eat everything you desire even when you aren’t hungry. I’ve been there – and some days I’m still there! While you say you want to lose weight, your actions tell a different story.
What is keeping you from doing what you say you want to do? Have you stopped to think about the reasons? Are you afraid you’ll lose friends if you stop eating or drinking as your friends do? Are you scared that people will look at you differently if you lose weight? Are you worried you will be hungry or feel deprived? What will your family say if you change how you eat at family gatherings and celebrations? Has your weight become an excuse for why you can’t meet a romantic partner, go hiking, find a job, or any other reason you can think of?
Coaching will help you figure out what is getting in the way of reaching your goals. What thoughts keep tripping you up to make your weight loss goal seem unobtainable? As a life coach, I show you how to examine your thoughts, find the sticking points, and then create new thoughts that will motivate you. Using self-hypnosis techniques, you can create new pathways in your brain that can enable you to reach any goal successfully.
Will your life be worse if you don’t eat those extra cookies or slices of pizza? Is your life better when you allow yourself to eat “all of the things”? What do you need to think and feel and then do for your actions to be congruent with your thoughts? How can you trust yourself to do what you say you will? And what will be your results once you do what you say you want to do?
As a “change” worker, I work beside you to create permanent changes in your brain so that you obtain the results you desire. You do not need to “white-knuckle” urges or cravings to learn to say “No” to the foods you want when you’re not hungry. You can learn to feel and experience negative emotions (like sadness, boredom, or overwhelm) without needing food or alcohol to buffer or suppress those emotions.
